Japanese New Years Card "ETO (the sexagenary cycle)" In Japan there are "JIKKAN" and "JUNISHI", both calendars imported from China. Combinations of the two are called "ETO (the sexagenary cycle)" and the "ETO" of each new year becomes a popular topic of conversation.
- About the "JUNISHI"
- (the twelve animal signs of the zodiac)

It dates back to the Yin period China. It is said that in China under the Yin dynasty "JIKKAN (a kind of numeral)" and "JUNISHI" were combined in sixty different ways to show days, month, years, and directions; "JUNISHI" was used to show time. Later, different animals were used for the twelve signs of "JUNISHI". The order is : NE (mouse), USHI (ox), TORA (tiger), U (rabbit), TATSU (dragon), MI (snake), UMA (horse), HITSUJI (sheep), SARU (monkey), TORI (rooster/bird), INU (dog), I (boar). And this order is fixed. In present-day Japan we make use of it only refer to years.

"インディビデュアル・ロッカー"
1997年に個人的な画像収納庫として作りました。サイト名「individual locker (個人用ロッカー)」の由来です。いわゆるギャラリーサイトではなく単なる収納庫です。僕が画像を作り上げた段階では無価値なので無料です。ポストカードという形式にしたのは利用しやすい、すなわち使う人が価値を与えてくれやすいからです。なぜ利用者が価値を与える余地が必要かと言いますと、全く利用者や閲覧者のこと気にしないんだったらわざわざネット上に出さなくてもいいですからね。ただ利用者のことを考え過ぎるとそれは無価値とは言えないので、年賀状などのグリーティングが主な用途のわりに利用者のことをあまり考えていないデザインが特徴です。というわけで個人的な画像収納庫です。。。ようするに。。。好きなことだけしかやんないけどタダで持ってっていいよ！という画像サイトです。
